CANADIAN MUSEUM OF CIVILISATION, HULL

 
  TITLE:

  Intelligent Building Network

 
 

SCOPE:

 

A complete network, providing access to twisted pair, coaxial and fiber optic services at 768 points throughout the museum.

 
 

PROJECT RESPONSIBILITY:

 

NEL GROUP completed the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of the cable network. Coordination was maintained with all contractors on site to bring the project to completion on time and within budget.

 
 

UNIQUE ASPECTS:

 

The physical structure of this building, and the location of the communications outlets, required to control ceiling and roof top exhibits necessitated the development of new cable placing techniques in order to allow placing continuous lengths of fiber cable. At completion of this project, this network was recognized in the press as "The most sophisticated intelligent building network in Canada."
